  • • Tech Camp is suitable for both experienced and beginners. No technology experience needed.
    • Tech Camp is designed for 6 to 12 year olds.
    • Tech Camp campers will be separated into two age groups: Tech Camp Jr. (ages 6-8) and Tech Camp (ages 9-12)
    • Campers are grouped by age.
    • Campers enjoy the opportunity to participate in free swim under the supervision of our highly trained lifeguards.

    Join Rancho Tech Camp and explore STEM in a fun and innovative way!

    Tech Camp allows participants to explore the components of Science, Technology Engineering, and Mathematics. Each week focuses on a new and exciting theme so campers can register for one or all of these newly designed programs. Tech campers will learn the basics of robotics and coding, challenge each other to build and compete in a drone obstacle course, and launch water balloons from home-made catapults.

    Together with our adult-led staff, campers will have a blast working in small groups as they create, build, strategize, and challenge one another in this one of a kind tech adventure.

    Each Camper Receives A Camp T-Shirt (one shirt per summer).

    RADICAL ROBOTICS | June 4-8
    Whether you are racing your robot through a challenge course or competing in a head-to-head battle, campers will love this action packed tech week. Come prepared to customize your robots to complete various challenges like dunking a basketball in a mini hoop or catapulting an orange towards a target. Program your robot to jump over the lava pit and form an alliance with other campers to take down The Counselor-Bot.

    DYNAMIC DRONES | June 11-15
    Campers will work together in small groups to fly their drones through various challenges and missions. Build your own drone racing arena and race against your friends. Dynamic Drones is a week long program packed with racing, obstacle courses, competition, and of course DRONE CODING!

    ROLLER COASTER DESIGN | June 18-22
    Work on building your very own roller coaster in the morning using K’Nex and other awesome materials, then go on a virtual ride in the afternoon. Roller Coaster Design allows campers to learn and test the science behind roller coasters. After building the coaster in the real world, let’s take it digital! Campers will build and and see their roller coaster from the perspective of a front row rider!

    ADVENTURES IN ENGINEERING | June 25-29
    From simple Rube Goldberg Machines to complex autonomous systems, test your skills as an engineer in this exciting and creative camp! Explore the science of space and shape. Sketch, plan and build model bridges, skyscrapers, railways and much more. Test your projects to see how much strain they can take before they crumble to the ground.

    SERIOUSLY…DO TRY THIS AT HOME!: For Ages 6 to 8 | July 9-13
    Are you ready for a one of a kind DYNAMITE program? Hold onto your socks as we test the limits of science. Campers will learn what it’s like to create their own HUGE Bubble and then get inside. How much weight will it take? Will this Melt? What happens if we blow this up? Join us for Don’t Try This At Home…It’s sure to be a BLAST!

    YOUNG HACKS SECRET AGENT TRAINING: For Ages 9 to 12 | July 9-13
    Does your child have what it takes to lead in the 21st century? Young Hacks Academy uses technology to develop real-world leadership skills. Blending programming, problem-solving, and teamwork, YHA teaches kids to build cool video games about big challenges facing the world today. This program is committed to having fun away from the screen, moving campers outside each day for unplugged games like treasure hunts and riddle relays. Throughout the week Secret Agents will tackle daily missions using Scratch, a user-friendly, visual programming tool that empowers students to quickly start developing their own video games and interactive stories. The challenge is to come up with a project that will not only entertain their friends, but also teach something about important topics that are impacting our local and global community. No programming experience is required.

    STEM OLYMPICS | July 16-20
    This program focuses on teamwork, critical thinking, building and design. Lead your team to victory by out-engineering and out-building the other group ( Boys vs Girls!). Campers are tasked with various challenges and given a set amount of materials each to compete with. Build a bridge that can hold serious weight, design a roller coaster, build a trebuchet, and have fun! Campers are constantly challenged to work together in small groups to complete various objectives. Be ready for camper vs. counselor challenges throughout the week!

    Rancho Solano Camps offers extended care before and after the camp day for children who need to arrive early or stay late. Campers in the extended care program participate in a variety of well-supervised, age-appropriate activities ranging from sports, stories and puzzles to board games.

    Extended Care Hours
    • Morning Extended Care is available from 7:30 am to 9:00 am
    • Afternoon Extended Care is available from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm
    • Extended Care is available weekly and daily

    Regular Camp Hours
    • Regular Drop-off is from 8:45 am to 9:05 am
    • Regular Pick-up is from 2:50 pm to 3:10 pm

    Rancho Camp has an extremely strict late pickup policy and an associated penalty fee — please pick your camper up by 5:30 pm to avoid that penalty from being automatically charged.

  • Xpedition Camp Traditions

    Rancho Solano Summer Camps has established many wonderful traditions. Every day in camp is an opportunity to create memories and overall fun. Rancho Summer Camps treasure its daily routines and traditions. All of our programs center on the enjoyment of creative play and learning.
  • Xpedition and Innovation Morning Meeting

    The best way to start the day! Xpedition and Innovation start their days with a fun and energized morning meeting. From Camper and Counselor competitions to Whacky Wednesdays and Fabulous Fridays, there is a lot in store at Xpedition and Innovation Camp morning meeting. Xpedition and Innovation Campers also end their day with an all camp meeting to reflect on the current day and prepare for the next exciting camp day.

    Xpedition Leaders

    Every afternoon, counselors from each group nominate an Xpedition and Innovation Leader who will help the counselor meet and welcome new campers to their respective groups. Campers are chosen to be Xpedition and Innovation leaders based on their positive attitude and “we” over “me” qualities. Captains must wear their special Xpedition Leader Eye Black.

    Plinko for Icees

    Throughout the week, campers cheer on their peers as the Plinko puck drops, deciding the fate of whether or not the campers will receive an ice-cold ice pop. On really hot days, the Plinko Board has an amazing way to find the proper slot so everyone wins!

    Fabulous Friday Fun Day

    Shhhhh. It’s a surprise and each week is something new and exciting. From treasure hunts to magical mystery theater, campers work in teams to win the ultimate prize: The Viener Snitzel Snazzle Award. Sorry, you have to come to camp to experience it in real life.

    Counselor Competitions

    Creative and fun staff games where campers support their own program counselors and have the opportunity to see them participate in team-building and friendly competitions both physical and mental. Our Oreo Cookie on the forehead contest is a hit for all campers (and counselors).
